Istanbul Ticaret University, which attaches importance to social, cultural and sports activities as well as providing quality education and constantly encourages its students to become involved with these fields, opened a gym in Küçükyalı Campus. All necessary equipment for daily physical exercise and sports activities are available in the 200 square meter gym.
The fully equipped indoor gym in Küçükyalı Campus was opened with a modest ceremony attended by Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu. Rector Prof. Dr. Oğurlu said that they will continue to make investments that will allow students to spend time also outside of the classroom in an efficient and quality way.
Istanbul Ticaret University opened two other gyms, one with an area of 70 square meters and the other with an area of 35 square meters, on the Sütlüce Campus last year. All the necessary equipment are available in these gyms. The gyms are open every day of the week between 08:00 and 20:00, serving all students, and administrative and academic staff of the university.
PANDEMIC MEASURES
Those who use gyms must observe the rules that are in place due to the pandemic. In this context, it is imperative for those who do sports to have towels and to lay towels on the areas they sit and lean on. In addition, clean sports shoes and sports clothes must be worn in the gym. Casual shoes worn outside may not be used inside the gyms.
In addition, due to the pandemic conditions, at most 4 people can do sports at the same time in the gyms in the Sütlüce campus and at most 6 people can do sports at the same time in the gym in the Küçükyalı campus. To this end, those who want to use the gyms must sign the relevant contract and make a reservation to use the gym the Culture and Sports Office before use.
OUTDOOR BASKETBALL COURTS
In addition to indoor gyms, Istanbul Ticaret University also has outdoor sports fields. The outdoor sports area available in the Küçükyalı Campus yard was opened in the 2020-2021 Academic Year. There is also an outdoor sports area with a single rim on the roof of the Sütlüce Campus D Block. Istanbul Ticaret University will continue its investments in order to improve the campus life of its students.
