The Finance and Banking Department aims to train future businesspeople, banking and finance professionals and academicians. In addition to the undergraduate education, the graduate-level programs are offered in the Graduate School of Finance.<\/p>\n
The Graduate School of Finance is the first and only graduate school in Turkey that offers specialized graduate-level education in areas of expertise such as Finance, Banking, Insurance and Risk Management, and Capital Markets.<\/p>\n
The \u201cBanking Simulation and Application Laboratory\u201d software has been developed in cooperation with Vak\u0131fbank so that students could experience actual banking transactions. Faculty members of the Department teach courses together with their senior management experience in the financial sector for many years.<\/p>\n
In addition to theoretical classes, our students who strive to improve themselves in Capital Markets can take applied training in the BISTLAB laboratory established in cooperation with Borsa Istanbul. They learn and implement various databases and software widely used in the finance sector, such as Reuters Eikon, Matriks and EViews.<\/p>\n
With the help of this rigorous training, students can implement capital market and banking practices before they start their business life. In addition, our students are in direct contact with the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) through the Financial Sector Committee. In this way, students can get job and internship opportunities both within ITO and in thousands of its distinguished member companies.<\/p>\n
Since 2020, the medium of instruction in our department is English. The main reason behind this decision can be explained by integrating our students to international markets and the provision of a qualified workforce towards the goal of making Istanbul an International Financial Center. The Department of Finance and Banking organizes seminars and workshops to ensure that students benefit from the experiences of international researchers and industry professionals.<\/p>\n
Our students, who fulfill the necessary conditions, have the opportunity to gain summer school experience in one of the leading universities in finance, the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.<\/p>\n
