The program prepares students into the promising sectors of the twenty-first century, with professional equipment suitable for job market, the requirements of the information age and the needs of the post-industrial digital society. Our four-year program equips students with the capacity to find a job, start a business and make a successful career.
The last quarter century has been a time when information technologies have dramatically transformed the practices of producing and teaching science. This transformation also affected the science of economics. Today, modeling, simulation and policy recommendations regarding economic events, processes, institutions and systems are made based on the innovations/opportunities brought by information technologies.
The Department of Economics aims to use these innovations brought by information technologies in scientific education processes, to benefit from the potential of these opportunities to contribute to the solution of economic problems, and to strengthen the “information-technological” dimension of the vocational formation of graduates in this framework. The future-oriented science production strategy of the department is based on the intensive use of information technologies.
Graduates of the Department of Economics can find job opportunities in the private sector (private banks, private companies, stock market), consulting companies ministries related to economic management in the public sector (the Central Bank, public banks, Turkish Statistical Institute etc), and foundations in the civil sector (civil research centers, other non-governmental organizations). Our graduates can find the opportunity to work in international organizations such as the World Bank, IMF and similar organizations.
