The first Head of the Department was \u00d6mer Lalik, who served between 2001 and 2004. Prof. Dr. Erol Eren served as Head of the Department during the 2004\u20132005 period. Between 2005 and 2015, the department was chaired by Prof. Dr. O\u011fuz Uras. Prof. Dr. Beliz \u00dclgen served as Head of the Department from 2015 to 2019. Between 2019 and 2023, Prof. Dr. Ahu Tu\u011fba Karabulut held the position of Head of the Department. Since 2023, the department has been chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Sa\u011flam.
