OUR “NO MINOR MISTAKES IN TRAFFIC” PROJECT IS ON THE INTERNATIONAL PLATFORM!

Today, we held a very important meeting with international participation within the scope of our social responsibility project, No Minor Mistakes in Traffic, which we signed between our university and the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of Turkey. Our Center Director, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Ilıcalı, was the chairman of the meeting and other participants are an important diplomat and the advisor of the President of the United Nations General Assembly Mr. Volkan Bozkır, Mr. Öncü Keçeli, Turkey Representative of the World Health Organization (WHO) Prof. Dr. Toker Ergüder, WHO program manager Mr. Jonathon Passmore, WHO specialist Mr. Batry Berdyklchev, WHO specialist Ms. Sıla Toker, WHO expert Mr. Çağrı Özbek, Head of Multilateral Transport Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mr. Fethi Etem, Ministry of National Education General Directorate of Private Education Institutions Traffic and Head of Driver Trainings Department Mr. Abdullah Süslü, MCE Company General Manager Mr. Berkant Güzelküçük, Radiotraffic program editor Mr. Cezayir Doğan and our center assistant Mr. Esad Ergin.

At the meeting, national and international support was discussed in order to explain our project “No Minor Mistakes in Traffic” during the 6th United Nations Road Safety week, and then to make it an international and large-scale project. Our project will also be introduced in the country video to be presented during the road safety week to be held between 17-23 May in 2021. At the meeting, Mr. Passmore stated that as WHO, they are ready to provide all necessary support and it would be good to share Turkey’s success in reducing the number of injuries and fatalities on different platforms with other countries. Passmore stated that the 6th Road Safety week will not be the only event to explain this project and to exhibit the success of the country. Consequently, he invited us to the road safety themed event to be organized by him on 12 May. Next week, a press conference will be held and the work done will be conveyed and the WHO Europe President will also attend the press conference. In addition, Mr. Öncü, who expressed the full support of the President of the United Nations General Assembly, Mr. Volkan Bozkır, also stated that they would give all the support they could as the United Nations.

As a result, in addition to the non-governmental organizations from our country with whom they are in contact with WHO, The Association for Common Mind in Traffic (TRAPDER), founded by Prof. Dr. Mustafa ILICALI, has been requested of the application for this list as the 3rd non-governmental organization. Thus, TRAPDER will be one of the stakeholders in future studies.
