DEPARTMENT CHAIR

Rapid changes in the areas of technology and employment in parallel with the phenomenon of globalization, the ever-increasing data and fast-moving information flow, and the revolution in the usability of data, have further increased the need for manpower with analytical skills in organizations that are in constant competition. Yet today, manpower with analytical skills is not enough. Hence, our department trains the manpower to also possess the skills needed in the field today in addition to analytical skills. These skills include the ability to offer different solutions by transforming the data, which are said to be the currency of the future, into information, and to provide competitive advantage reflected in various performance indicators such as efficiency, profitability, productivity and sustainable production processes.
Statistics is the process of producing information from data, which is why it is used in almost every field such as economics, biology, engineering, medicine, education, genetics, insurance, chemistry and sports. For this reason, graduates of the Statistics program can work as a data analyst, statistician, data scientist, data miner, business analyst, and system and process analyst in any field where information and value are produced from data.
