The decrease in the number of anti-democratic political regimes and closed economic systems, and the rapid development of communication and transportation has caused the globalization of the world in an unprecedented extent. Globalization also occurs in economic activities, politics, culture, and arts. Local standards are evolving and gaining international dimensions. Companies are making economic plans that take the whole world into consideration. The problems experienced in countries, especially regarding human rights, are turning into world issues. It also attracts the attention of other states and international organizations and becomes a subject of concern or intervention. Globalization also adds new dimensions to non-governmental organizations.
