Sociology is among the significant sciences of our age, and it makes important scientific efforts to understand the changes and transformations that occur in society and social events. After emerging in France as a new science, sociology has found a place in Turkey, and then it has taken its deserved place in our universities.

The Department of Sociology, which has recently taken its place within the body of Istanbul Commerce University includes field-related activities with the support of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, besides its studies on the fundamental issues of Sociology within the framework of theoretical subjects and the historical characteristics of Turkish society.

In addition to these, contributions of the Departments of Psychology, Educational Sciences, Mathematics, and Statistics within the faculty will help Sociology students to progress in a versatile way.
