Announcement of the Elective Course to be Opened within the scope of the European Union supported project: FORESIGHT

Within the scope of the project entitled “FORESIGHT – Future Oriented Education for Students Incorporating GSC (Grand Societal Challenges) in High-paced Times” carried out with the support of the European Union by our University and universities from the Netherlands, Spain, Hungary and Belgium, an elective course entitled “FORESIGHT” will be offered in the Fall 2020 semester. The course, the medium of instruction of which will be English, will be intended for junior (3rd year) and senior (4th year) students studying in the undergraduate programs of the Faculty of Business Administration that offer instruction in English, i.e. Business Administration in English and Economics  in English programs that offer instruction entirely in English as well as other undergraduate programs offered under the Faculty of Business Administration that offer 30% of the courses in English.

Information on the course content is given in Appendix-1. The course “FORESIGHT” will be offered by Rectorate as a course of 5 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System), and a maximum of 30 students will be able to enroll in the course.

Within the scope of the course, students will take part in research work on topics such as global problems and United Nations sustainable development goals, and develop joint projects with students from the universities located in project partner countries on topics such as local innovative solutions to global problems, new business ideas and social entrepreneurship.

20 most successful students from among the interested students will also have the opportunity to participate in a one-week workshop to be held in the city of Bilbao of Spain in 2021, unless cancelled by developments that may occur in relation to the pandemic process, with all travel and accommodation expenses covered by the EU.

Students interested in enrolling in the course will go through an evaluation process will feature submission of an article by the candidate students. Accordingly, students who would like to enroll in the course should submit their articles written in English that are not  to exceed 2500 words to the following e-mail address: abmerkezi@ticaret.edu.tr by September 30th, 2020, 17.00 pm, at the latest.

The submitted articles will be evauated by the European Union Application and Research Center of our University, as the unit running the project, and consequentially, the list of the students who can enroll in the course will be determined.
