Unit for Students with Disability

Purpose

To help ensure that the disabled students and staff are not hindered by any barriers while at Istanbul Ticaret University, and
To make Istanbul Ticaret University a university preferred by students with disabilities in the first place.

Objective

To identify the obstacles that disabled people may encounter, to determine the measures to be taken against these obstacles and offer solutions to eliminate them, and to make necessary arrangements to that effect.

Tasks

In order to organize the education programs in a way that does not hinder the academic, physical, psychological and social lives of students with disabilities, to both ensure the arrangement of the educational environment in which the disabled students attend, and to take decisions on the provision of equipment, the preparation of special course materials, and carrying out the suitable education, research and accommodation environments, directed at the disabled,
To provide training and consultancy services to the academic and administrative staff and students on the disabled and the elimination of any obstacles that may hinder the disabled,
To develop programs and projects on the disabled and the elimination of any obstacles that may hinder the disabled,
To organize seminars, conferences and similar activities,
To prepare and distribute booklets and brochures on the disabled and the elimination of any obstacles that may hinder the disabled, and
To render widespread use of the website in the communications to be made in relation thereto.
