Dear Students;
Continuing to increase the market shares of airline companies in both domestic and international routes in our country, in parallel with the increase in air traffic and the number of passengers carried, has brought with it the interest and demand for the air transportation sector. The air transportation sector, whose dynamics of change is extremely fast, started to need more qualified workforce in line with these developments.
The realization of the 2023 targets in our country is directly related to increasing the competitiveness in international markets. This can be achieved with a qualified workforce equipped with technological knowledge, having quality knowledge and skills, and able to use their professional competencies effectively. However, changes and differentiations may occur in the qualifications of the personnel required by the sector. We think that workplace internship practices should be given importance in order to train the workforce in sufficient numbers and qualified.
The “Aviation Management Program”, which is supported by intensive English, has the understanding of gaining concrete field skills, allows the synthesis of knowledge and skills through applied internships, and includes courses that prepare for the important certification exams of the aviation industry, has been prepared in accordance with the new technologies, taking into account the employment expectations of the air transportation industry.
With the four-year undergraduate program, it is aimed to train individuals who are equipped with the basic knowledge and skills for the sector in airlines, airports and other aviation businesses operating in the aviation sector. Making analysis and synthesis of our students; Our main goal is to improve people and their ability to manage systems. In addition, mastering operational activities at all levels, communicating effectively, being able to think practically and making decisions are among our other priorities. Thus, our graduates will be able to express themselves effectively both verbally and in writing and will be able to manage the air transportation systems of the future. Although we define our department as “Aviation Management” in general terms, we see that our graduates work in very different positions in the real sector. You can examine these professions, which we call “career positions”, under the relevant headings of the website. These positions can start from positions of expertise and responsibility and expand to first-level management, middle-level management and over time to upper-level management. Since specialization has gained importance in our age, the aviation industry is keeping up with this development. Keeping aside the “flight-related occupations” in the aviation industry, we have a rich portfolio of occupations in all other relevant positions.
With my love and respect,
Assoc. Prof. Oksan Kibritçi Artar
Deputy Head of Department.
