Lateral Transfer

Lateral Transfer

  1. Successful students who have completed at least one semester (excluding scientific preparation) in a department of an institute at the university or in a graduate program at another higher education institution may apply for lateral transfer to graduate programs.
  2. Students wishing to transfer from an institute affiliated with another university to a similar program at the university, the equivalence of which has been approved by the relevant institute board, must have completed at least one semester of graduate studies at the first institute, passed all courses taken, and met the current student admission requirements for the graduate program they wish to transfer to, in order to be accepted to the institute.
  3. The same conditions apply to lateral transfers between institutes and departments of the university, as well as transfers between thesis-based and non-thesis master’s programs.
  4. Which of the courses taken by these students will be counted towards the relevant graduate program is determined by the recommendation of the department head and the decision of the institute’s administrative board. The evaluation of the equivalence of the courses taken and passed by these students from the programs is made by the relevant institute board.
  5. Students transferring horizontally are subject to the maximum time limits specified in this Regulation for the stage at which they are admitted to the program.
