THE PURPOSE OF DEPARTMENT

The purpose of the Department of Business Administration is to raise entrepreneurs, leaders and executives who are experts on business functions, can think globally, act nationally and globally for local and international organizations operating in the private sector, public institutions, and NGOs.

The department has permanent academicians who are experts in their fields, successful and well known, have strong relationships with the business world, and to whom our students can always reach. Our academicians include case studies and current best practices along with theoretical knowledge in their courses. As the Department of Business Administration, we raise individuals who can improve themselves for life, are aware of their ethical and social responsibilities, have the analytic way of thinking and self-confidence, can produce solutions to problems, observe local and global changes, offer value to their companies and their stakeholders.

THE IMPORTANCE OF THE DEPARTMENT

At the present time, globalization, increasing competition and rapid changes are very important for companies to continue their existence in the long term and provide competitive advantages. These factors lead companies to update their management approaches and change their expectations from their human resources. First of all, companies are in search of human resources who can take active charge in national and global activities, adapt well to different cultures and environments. In the Department of Business Administration, we focus on improving “talents” who have national and global competencies and skills by considering the needs and expectations of companies and employees with curriculums which we design.

RESEARCH INTERESTS FOR STUDENTS

We educate and raise the students who have Business Administration majors about all business functions required in company management in order to be managers. Our graduates can find jobs in various departments in national and global companies operating in public and private sectors. They can work in planning, purchasing, logistics, production, marketing, sales, accounting, finance, human resources management and business development departments. Moreover, they can become entrepreneurs by establishing their own companies.

The purpose of the Department of Business Administration is to raise entrepreneurs, leaders and executives who are experts on business functions, can think globally, act nationally and globally for local and international organizations operating in the private sector, public institutions, and NGOs.

The department has permanent academicians who are experts in their fields, successful and well known, have strong relationships with the business world, and to whom our students can always reach.

We learn the realities of the business world, improve ourselves and transfer all these to our courses as the Department of Business Administration by collaborating with professional committees in the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, pioneer companies, and professional organizations. We offer education to our students to strengthen their national and global knowledge in accordance with the changes of our era, considering the expectations of companies for their employees by compulsory and elective courses, including elective internship course covering the areas of Business Management, R&D, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing and Operations Management, Organizational Behavior, and Management Information Systems in our department.

Moreover, we offer several elective foreign language courses to our students. We are increasing the number of applied courses in which we use current software. We constantly update our curriculum by meeting with our advisory sector committee in accordance with developments in the world and in our country. We also follow technology and digitalization. We give importance to innovation, entrepreneurship, and leadership. We emphasize the importance of moral principles and ethical values in business administration. We offer our students opportunities to become proactive, creative, innovative and researcher who have an analytical way of thinking and can contribute to their countries and the world in the Department of Business Administration.
