6th GENDER JUSTICE CONGRESS-CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
Gender Justice Congress is organized annually under the leadership of KADEM (Women and Democracy Association) Journal of Women’s Studies, of which Istanbul Ticaret University Women and Family Application and Research Center is a stakeholder, in order to contribute to the literature by bringing together the studies on women and family and to disseminate the knowledge accumulated thereof.
The main theme of the 6th Gender Justice Congress, which will take place in Istanbul on March 5th, 2020, has been determined as “Parenting in a Changing World”.
The perceptions towards family, the cornerstone of society, and towards parenthood, are inevitably affected by the changing world conditions. Finding solutions to the problems caused by these effects and being able to foresee the future in a healthier way is only possible by understanding the changing social and cultural dynamics in the relationship between mother, father and child in today’s conditions.
In this context, the economic, sociological and legal changes experienced in parenting in line with the technological developments from past to present, will be discussed under the theme of “Parenting in a Changing World”, with a focus on gender justice in the society, within the framework of various academic interests.
The Congress is expected to contribute to establishing an interdisciplinary discussion platform where information and experiences will be shared by enabling the exchange of ideas around these topics, paving the way for the discussion of new searches, and forming the infrastructure of the country’s social policies, new strategies and practices regarding parenting.
Word count of the abstracts to be submitted for evaluation should be between 750 and 1000. The method and possible findings of the research should be included in the abstracts. Abstracts that will be accepted for presentation will be included in the abstract book. In the event that the original papers that will be presented at the Congress complete the necessary evaluation processes, they can also be published in the KADEM Journal of Women’s Studies. Prizes will be awarded to the first three papers selected from among the accepted papers. Participation in the congress is free of charge.
