The sixth Entrepreneurship Summit, organized jointly by the Entrepreneurship Society, one of the most active and successful societies of Istanbul Ticaret University, and the Leadership and Entrepreneurship Application and Research Center of Istanbul Ticaret University and Istanbul Ticaret University Trade Technology Transfer Office, was held this year on May 8th, 2018. The 6th Entrepreneurship Summit, which was held in the Sütlüce campus of our University, attracted a great deal of attention. Prof. Dr. Özgür Çengel, Vice Rector of Istanbul Ticaret University, made the opening speech of the summit. In his speech, Prof. Çengel emphasized that the Entrepreneurship Society carries out many important activities, however that the Entrepreneurship Summit has a special importance, and said, “We believe that this Summit will make a great contribution to Turkey’s entrepreneurship ecosystem. It will be a source of inspiration and motivation for Istanbul Ticaret University students who want to gain a place in the entrepreneurship ecosystem.” The opening speeches of the Summit continued with the speech of the Director of Leadership and Entrepreneurship Application and Research Center of Istanbul Ticaret University Assoc. Prof. Dr. N. Öykü İyigün, Director of Istanbul Ticaret University Trade Technology Office Mr. Ömer Cengiz Sezgin, and President of the Entrepreneurship Society M. Sabit Göktaş.
Young and successful entrepreneurs from the entrepreneurship ecosystem shared their experiences.
Important guests from the business world and the entrepreneurship ecosystem attended the summit, which was organized with reference to the motto of “There is no further step to be taken towards success; because you are already on top!”. The most important feature of the guests was that they were young, innovative and successful entrepreneurs. In this context, Carbon CTO Jankat SARI, Digital Transformation Consultant Murat ERDÖR, X Body Founder Enes OLGUN, President of the International Entrepreneurs Association in Turkey Arhan KAYAR, NHTLab General Manager B. Ersin MÜRTEZAOĞLU attended the Entrepreneurship Summit, which aims to spread entrepreneurship and inspire new business ideas, as speakers.
Authentic success stories
The students who participated in the Entrepreneurship Summit, where authentic success stories and different dimensions of entrepreneurship were shared, received awards/opportunities such as internship and free language training from the stakeholders of the Entrepreneurship Society.
Handover ceremony
At the end of the Entrepreneurship Summit 2018, the handover ceremony of the Istanbul Ticaret University Entrepreneurship Society Board of Directors was held, as well. Mr. Mehmet Sabit Göktaş, a 2nd year student from the Department of Political Science and International Relations, who has served as the Chairman of the Entrepreneurship Society during the 2017-2018 academic year, handed over the Chairmanship of the Entrepreneurship Society to Mr. M. Ferhat Çarkçı, a 2nd year student from the the International Trade Department.
