Moving up a Grade Level

ACADEMIC PROGRESSION AND GRADUATE PATHWAYS

Graduates of this undergraduate program are eligible to apply for postgraduate (Master’s and Ph.D.) programs to further their academic and professional development.

This page is designed to inform our students about the requirements for progressing to the next academic level, year, or diploma program within the department. In accordance with the university’s official regulations, the progression requirements, application processes, and essential rules are summarized below.

Progression Requirements and General Principles

To advance to a higher academic year or level, students must fulfill the following criteria:

1. Academic Achievement (GPA Requirements)

  • General Requirement: A student must maintain a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 2.00 to progress to the next academic year (Article 31).

  • Probationary Status: Students with a GPA below 2.00 are placed on Academic Probation. These students cannot advance to a higher year until they successfully complete the designated courses to raise their average.

2. Completion of Mandatory Courses

  • Students are required to successfully complete all mandatory (compulsory) courses from previous semesters to be eligible for progression (Article 21).

  • In case of a failed course, the student is primarily responsible for retaking and passing that specific course before moving forward in the curriculum.

3. Credit Load and Course Selection

  • Standard Load: The maximum workload a student can take in a single semester is 30 ECTS credits.

  • Overload Privilege: Students with a GPA of 3.00 or higher are permitted to take an additional 6 ECTS credits per semester (Article 24).

  • Priority Rule: Students with failed courses from previous years are obligated to prioritize those courses during the registration period.

4. Attendance Policy

  • Academic success is built on participation. Students must attend at least 70% of their theoretical classes.

  • Courses failed due to non-attendance (Article 25) must be retaken in the subsequent available semester.
