Lateral Transfer (Yatay Geçiş)
Successful students who have completed at least one semester in a graduate program at a department within the university or at another higher education institution (excluding the scientific preparation period) are eligible to apply for lateral transfer to our graduate programs.
1. Eligibility and Admission Criteria
To be admitted to a graduate program via lateral transfer from another university’s institute, candidates must meet the following conditions:

Academic Standing: The student must have completed at least one semester of graduate study at their initial institution.

Course Success: The student must have successfully passed all courses taken at the previous institution.

Admission Standards: Candidates must satisfy the current student admission requirements of the specific graduate program they wish to join at Istanbul Ticaret University.
2. Internal and Programmatic Transfers
The same criteria and conditions apply to the following types of transitions:

Transfers between different institutes or departments within Istanbul Ticaret University.

Transfers between Master’s with Thesis and Master’s without Thesis programs.
3. Course Equivalency and Recognition
The determination of which previously completed courses will be recognized for the current program is conducted through a formal evaluation:

Proposal & Approval: Course recognition is based on the proposal of the relevant Department Head and the final decision of the Graduate School Administrative Board.

Equivalency Assessment: The Graduate School Board evaluates the compatibility and equivalency of the credits and content of the courses the student has already mastered.
4. Maximum Duration of Study
Students admitted via lateral transfer are subject to the statutory maximum study periods specified in the University Regulations for the level (semester) at which they are admitted.
