The quality of the academic and administrative processes of our Department of Political Science and International Relations (English) has been accredited for a period of 4 years, from 2024 to 2028, as a result of an evaluation conducted by the Social, Humanities and Basic Sciences Accreditation and Rating Association – STAR Accreditation. Our department is among the first in Türkiye in this field.

The faculty members within our department are experts in interdisciplinary studies, closely follow current economic and political developments, and possess significant academic experience and expertise in their fields.

Our students spend the first two years internalizing the basic facts and concepts of political science, international relations, law, philosophy of science, and economics through English-language courses. Starting in their third year, they can benefit from a wide range of elective courses in the sub-disciplines they wish to specialize in.

In addition to these elective courses, our students can gain experience in practical fields prior to graduation through professional seminars and final project work in their fourth year. Department seminars, study meetings, and student community activities aimed at the social and intellectual development of our students are held intensively throughout the academic year.

Our graduates can take up positions representing Türkiye in various ministries, primarily the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as well as in public and private sector organizations, media organizations, civil society organizations, the banking and international finance sectors, and various international organizations, primarily the United Nations. Students who wish to pursue an academic career can continue their master’s and doctoral education at our university, various universities in Turkey, or universities abroad to become academics.
