Our university’s faculty member, Associate Professor Dr. Uğur Yasin Asal, assessed Türkiye’s diplomatic vision and the importance of the Gaza Contact Group on CNN Türk’s live broadcast.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Uğur Yasin Asal, Head of the Department of Political Science and International Relations (English) at our university, appeared as a guest on CNN Türk’s Gün Ortası program live broadcast as part of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, in which he participated. Evaluating the role of the Forum in global diplomacy, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asal highlighted Turkey’s diplomacy approach focused on peace and dialogue.

TÜRKİYE’S GLOBAL CONTRIBUTION TO DIPLOMACY
Recalling that this year marks the fourth Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Associate Professor Uğur Yasin Asal stated that the forum brings together statesmen, academics, and think tanks from different parts of the world. Associate Professor Asal said that the forum is an important platform that paves the way for the creation of mechanisms to develop peaceful solutions to global problems.

TÜRKİYE STANDS OUT WITH ITS DIPLOMATIC TRADITION
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asal stated that Türkiye, with its diplomatic tradition spanning over 500 years, has solidified this legacy through the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, emphasizing the need to develop multilateral cooperation mechanisms. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asal stated that the forum creates a unique platform where different countries can share their perspectives and bring these views together around a Türkiye-centered understanding.

EXPECTATIONS FROM THE GAZA CONTACT GROUP
During the broadcast, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asal also mentioned the Gaza Contact Group meeting held within the scope of the forum and drew attention to Turkey’s diplomatic efforts in the Israel-Palestine issue. Noting the importance of the Gaza Contact Group, led by Türkiye, announcing its calls for peace in the region to the world with a concrete statement, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asal stated, “A strong and collective stance is essential to achieve a ceasefire.”
