Faculty of Architecture and Design Textile and Fashion Design
For the project titled “Bringing the Old Fabrics of Kıbrıscık and Its Regions Today by Modernizing”, which was started by our department in July 2019, field research was carried out in the villages of Bolu, Kıbrıscık district, in order to examine the old textiles. Within the scope of the project, village houses in 15 villages in Kıbrıscık district were examined one by one and documented in order to bring the old weavings to the present day. The field research, which is the first step of the project, which was realized with the support of Kıbrıscık Municipality and Kıbrıscık District Governorship, has been completed. It will carry out fabric and pattern studies with the data collected from the villages. The modernization work of traditional textiles, which is the second stage where our university will cover all the project expenses, will be carried out in the ateliers of the Fashion and Textile Design Department of our university, and then collections will be produced. In line with the possible request of Kıbrıscık Municipality, the project will be finalized with a fashion show to be held in the district.
