The PhD Program in Financial Economics is designed for prospective academics who have completed their master’s degree, as well as for professionals working in the public and private sectors, with the aim of enabling specialization in the field of financial economics. Covering a broad scientific domain, the PhD Program in Financial Economics addresses topics that encompass the highest level of theory, policy, concepts, and techniques, with the objective of educating students to become qualified scholars and faculty members in this field. The program adopts an integrated approach that combines economics, finance, and quantitative methods, and expects students to develop strong analytical thinking skills and a research-oriented profile, thereby contributing to the scientific and educational environment in Türkiye as well as to the international academic publication landscape. In addition, the program aims to equip participants with competencies in effective financial management. The scientific field of financial economics spans a wide range of areas, extending from contemporary and global research topics in macroeconomic theory to the study of financial markets, institutions, asset valuation, and the theories and policies of financial decision-making by individuals and institutions under conditions of risk. Within this framework, particular emphasis is placed on the inclusion of quantitative methods in the curriculum to enable the empirical examination of theories through scientific research, as well as on the analysis of structures and relationships advanced in finance and economic theories.
