WHY TURKISH?

Each language reveals various aspects of the society in which it is spoken, such as lifestyle, material and spiritual values, belief system and perspective on life. Reflecting the characteristics of Turkish society, the Turkish language is a strong language with its observational naming power and rich set of vocabulary. As Mustafa Kemal Atatürk stated in his words, “The Turkish language is the heart and mind of the Turkish nation,” learning Turkish means at the same time being able to think like the Turkish society and establish closeness with it.

Turkish is not a difficult language to learn. Pronunciation of the letters at a rate of around 90% as they are written in the Turkish alphabet, which consists of 29 letters, is an important factor that facilitates learning Turkish. In Turkish, which has an agglutinative language structure, new words can be derived by systematically adding suffixes to word roots. The logic of deriving words with these suffixes, whose duties are certain, is learned quickly. The presence of vowel harmonies and consonant affinities in Turkish words not only adds harmony to the language, but also ensures that the word is memorable. The fact that nouns and adjectives are not classified as masculine, feminine or neutral is another convenience in learning Turkish.

Today, the Turkish language is predominantly spoken in Türkiye and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Additionally, there are Turkish speakers—albeit in smaller numbers—in Uzbekistan, Iran, China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Kyrgyzstan, as well as in the Russian Federation, Afghanistan, Bulgaria, Iraq, Syria, Georgia, Ukraine, Greece, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Albania, Serbia, and Romania. Due to migration from Turkey, Turkish is also spoken in parts of Europe, the US, and Australia. It is estimated that Turkish is currently spoken by approximately 85 million people worldwide.

In sum, we can confidently say that learning Turkish, which is spoken in a very wide geography, will provide you with many advantages.
