The program, which brings together the public sector, the business world, and academia under one roof, was attended by Mehmet Ali Kılıçkaya, Director General of Exports at the Ministry of Trade; Mehmet Develioğlu, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (İTO); Dr. İsrafil Kuralay, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Rector Prof. Dr. Necip Şimşek; Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Hanifi Parlar; Secretary General Erdal Cesar; Director of the Continuing Education Center Metin Özyürek, and the trainees.

During the program, trainees who successfully completed the Export Expertise Training Program received their certificates, and the E-Export Expertise Training Program was also launched.

KILIÇKAYA: “CERTIFICATES WILL BECOME EVEN MORE VALUABLE”

Speaking at the event, Mehmet Ali Kılıçkaya, Director General of Exports at the Ministry of Trade, began his remarks by conveying the greetings and best wishes of Minister of Trade Prof. Dr. Ömer Bolat. Noting that Türkiye has maintained its strength in the export sector during a period of increasing uncertainty in global trade, Kılıçkaya stated that the Ministry of Trade is working to support exporters, open up new markets, and develop the human resources needed by the sector.

Highlighting that e-export is a rapidly growing field worldwide, Kılıçkaya said that the Ministry of Trade is conducting special initiatives focused on e-export. Kılıçkaya noted that e-export training programs cover topics such as foreign trade regulations, market research, global marketplaces, digital marketing, artificial intelligence, product safety, digital product passports, logistics, customs clearance, and financing.

Emphasizing that these training programs are becoming increasingly important for the sector, Kılıçkaya noted that the need for qualified experts in the field of e-export is growing. Kılıçkaya noted that certifications issued through collaboration between the ministry, universities, and the business world will become even more valuable in the coming period, adding that the newly launched E-Export Expertise Training Program will offer significant opportunities to participants.

A NEW INITIATIVE FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS

In his speech, Kılıçkaya also touched on a new academic initiative planned to be launched at Ticaret University. Noting that an export-focused elective course for undergraduate students is being developed as part of a collaboration with the Ministry of Trade, Kılıçkaya emphasized the significance of this initiative launching at Ticaret University.

It was stated that, as part of the course planned for undergraduate students starting in September, the goal is for students to gain direct insight from experts on export policies, foreign trade processes, and industry experiences.

DEVELİOĞLU: “WE ARE AWARE THAT WE ARE DOING IMPORTANT WORK”

Mehmet Develioğlu, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, noted in his speech that Istanbul Ticaret University is of great value to them and highlighted the importance of the work being done, particularly in the fields of e-commerce and e-export, which have been on the rise in recent years.

Expressing their appreciation for the initiatives carried out by the university and the Ministry of Trade, Develioğlu noted that these programs serve as a model for other universities. Develioğlu stated, “We are aware that we are doing important work. We hope these initiatives will become even more widespread.”

DR. KURALAY: “THE GLOBAL TRADE COMMUNITY NEEDS THE TURKIYE BRAND”

Our Board of Trustees Chairman, Dr. İsrafil Kuralay, also expressed his satisfaction in his speech at the opportunity to come together with the Ministry of Trade and the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce for such an important program. Emphasizing that exporting is not limited to simply buying and selling products, Dr. Kuralay noted that those engaged in exporting also represent the “Türkiye” brand, the Turkish people, and the country’s accumulated expertise.

Pointing out that Türkiye has an approach to trade that prioritizes quality, the right product, and a people-centered mindset, Dr. Kuralay said, “Global trade needs Türkiye and the ‘Türkiye’s brand.”

36 PARTICIPANTS RECEIVED CERTIFICATES OF ACHIEVEMENT

The Export Expertise Training Program, which began with 40 participants, included a total of 60 hours of training conducted both online and in person. The university contributed to the training process with faculty members who are experts in their fields. As part of the program, participants were provided not only with theoretical knowledge but also with practical content.

Following evaluations at the end of the program, 36 participants earned certificates of completion. During the training, participants had the opportunity to gain comprehensive knowledge on export processes, market dynamics, foreign trade practices, and sector-specific experiences.

PROGRAM CONCLUDED WITH A NETWORKING SESSION

At the conclusion of the certificate ceremony, thanks were extended to the institutions, trainers, and colleagues involved in the organization who contributed to the program’s implementation. The event concluded with a group photo session, followed by a networking session held in the foyer.
