Lateral Transfer

Lateral Transfer

  1. Successful students who have completed at least one semester in a department of an institute at the university or in a graduate program at another higher education institution, excluding scientific preparation, may apply to graduate programs through lateral transfer.
  2. Students wishing to transfer laterally from a program at an institute affiliated with another university to a program at an institute at this University that is of a similar nature and has been approved as equivalent by the relevant institute board must have completed at least one semester of graduate study at the institute they first entered, have successfully completed all courses taken, and meet the current student admission requirements for the graduate programs to which they wish to transfer.
  3. The same conditions apply to transfers between the university’s institutes and departments, as well as between thesis-based and non-thesis-based master’s programs.
  4. Which of the courses taken by these students will be counted toward the relevant graduate program is determined by the recommendation of the department chair and the decision of the institute’s administrative board. The evaluation of the equivalence of the courses taken and passed by these students in the programs is carried out by the relevant institute board.
  5. Students who transfer laterally are subject to the maximum periods specified in this Regulation for the stage at which they are accepted into the program.
