Students from the Management Information Systems (MIS) Department of Istanbul Ticaret University conducted a technical visit to Boğaziçi Technopark on 19 November 2025, accompanied by our Department Chair Prof. Dr. N. Öykü İyigün and Department Advisor Research Assistant Talha Karadayı.
In the first stage of the technical visit, Türkü Suna Çendeoğlu, Manager of the Incubation Center, delivered a comprehensive presentation and Q&A session covering the structure of Boğaziçi Technopark, its fields of activity, the support it provides to entrepreneurs, and its role within the technology ecosystem. Afterwards, students participated in an in-house introductory tour where they had the opportunity to observe the different units and working areas of the Technopark on site.

In the second part of the visit, students took part in the Spark event and met with the Alibaba.com team. During the event, Turkey Marketing Manager Sezen Hüseyinoğlu and Business Development and Channel Sales Manager Burak Türkan delivered an extensive presentation on the role and strategies of B2B e-commerce in exporting.

Alibaba.com representatives shared valuable insights on digitizing stores, selecting the right market in cross-border trade, brand positioning, channel management, scaling strategies, and critical considerations for startups as they grow globally. Participants particularly had the opportunity to gain an up-to-date perspective on the e-commerce ecosystem through field-based insights regarding B2B-focused growth processes.
The technical visit was successfully completed, enhancing students’ knowledge and awareness in both technology entrepreneurship and international e-commerce.
