The Computer Engineering Department was established in 2003. Educational activities within the department are conducted through an undergraduate program taught in at least 30% English, Turkish and English thesis and non-thesis master’s programs, a Turkish doctoral program, as well as thesis and non-thesis master’s and doctoral programs in Cyber Security.
A one-year preparatory English program is mandatory prior to undergraduate education. Students who demonstrate sufficient language proficiency may enroll directly in the first year, provided that they successfully pass the proficiency examination.
In addition to hardware and software courses, the curriculum includes practice-oriented courses. Students are required to complete a 20-working-day hardware internship during the summer following the second year, and a 20-working-day software internship during the summer following the third year.
The undergraduate program comprises a total of 240 ECTS credits, with a standard completion period of eight semesters. Graduates who successfully complete the program are awarded the title of Computer Engineer.
In addition to pursuing minor and double-major programs in other departments, students of the department are eligible to study for one or two semesters in partner countries through the Erasmus+ exchange program.
