ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN FACULTY INDUSTRIAL DESIGN
DEPARTMENT CHAIR

Industrial design is a human-centered multi-disciplinary profession that meets all needs and tastes in an innovative, creative and functional way and produces various products on this axis. In this case, we plan to do our best in the combination of economic, sociological, and technological structure to be a designer who can take place in today’s world’s local and globally competitive environment. As a department with knowledge and experience, we carry out an understanding of education following these principles. We aim to bring different perspectives to designer candidates by paying attention to and participating in essential design activities at home and abroad. We believe that our graduates are equipped with more innovative and creative methods based on their professional and personal development. Industrial design is a profession that has a role in forming our country’s design culture. Students who graduate from industrial design departments can work in any company or design office where mass production is involved or create their freelance workspaces. We benefit from various design education practices based on furniture, packaging and lighting, electronics, automotive, urban design, exhibition systems, sports, entertainment, and user experience (UX/UI) during the training. Our students develop professionally and scientifically attending national and international workshops, exhibitions and conferences in cooperation with our department and other industrial design departments. By organizing technical, cultural and research trips, students are provided with communication, learning and evaluation skills. With international student and faculty exchange programs, students’ cultural backgrounds and professional experiences are increased. At the same time, our university provides our students with the opportunity to study abroad with the Erasmus project.
