JEWELERY ENGINEERING

The Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences launched its master’s program in Jewellery Engineering in the 2012-2013 academic year.. The aim of this program is to urgently meet the demand for young trained academicians and researchers for the industry. The technical problems of the jewellery sector which enjoys a productive capacity with international reach  must be resolved with industrial R&D studies. In addition, although our country has precious metal and stone raw materials, the jewellery sector has developed as foreign dependent in terms of raw materials. Through this master and doctoral program, which is the first of its kind in our country, through the strong educational and training staff of the Department of Jewelry Engineering, we aim to train jewellery engineers with specialized and postgraduate education offering broad understanding and perspective for research and development.  The objective of the department is to become a center of excellence in Europe and the Middle East in terms of education and R&D in the field of jewellery, and make a significant contribution to the industrial and economic development of our country by successfully realizing the necessary projects with the thoroughly trained jewellery researchers and engineers. We encourage our students to choose  their prospective thesis topics in line with the pressing concerns and problems of the sector. In this regard, we expect support from our sector representatives in determining the common problems of the sector and selecting thesis and project topics.
