Ph.D. IN JEWELERY ENGINEERING

Our country is still ahead in world jewellery production and sales, ranks in the top 5 in the world jewellery market, in the first 3 in jewellery consumption, second after Italy in production and export, and ranks first among the countries where tourists buy the most jewellery.

Considering the geographical location of our country and the level of wealth of neighboring and Middle Eastern countries it is inevitable that our country will become a leader in the world market in the field of jewellery in the coming years. As a matter of fact, it is aimed to make our country a gold and jewellery center in 2023.

Despite the size of the production capacity of our country in the jewellery sector, unfortunately, research, development and innovation activities in this field are insufficient and this situation has been determined as a forward-looking threat in the international market. World giants of the sector develop new materials, products, devices and processes by doing research.

The aim of the doctorate program in addition to scientific research and development in the jewellery sector is to train researchers who can make innovative materials, equipment, and production, use professional literature, prepare national and international projects, produce “Know-How” and patents. Thus, it will be ensured that our country will become an international leader not only in product manufacturing but also in information production and increase its international market share and reputation in the sector.
