Our Objectives

The main objectives of the FMRH Center are as follows:

  • To identify the problems related to intellectual property and competition law in the field of national and international law, employing scientific methods and using an interdisciplinary approach, to discuss the solutions to the problems identified as such, and to share the results of these discussions with the public,
  • To ensure the harmonization of legislation and to develop cooperation between Turkey and the European Union in the field of intellectual property and competition law,
  • In the field of intellectual property law, to spread and improve the implementation of intellectual rights such as trademarks, patents and utility models, industrial designs, geographical indications, and to raise awareness of the relevant segments of the society in respect thereof,
  • In the field of competition law, to raise awareness of the relevant segments of the society in respect of the importance of the competition law and of the prevention of all kinds of practices that prevent, distort and restrict competition in goods and services markets and any and all legal transactions and actions in the nature of mergers and acquisitions that will lead to abuse of dominant position and significantly reduce competition.
