Cinema and Series Directing Workshop was held!

Director Volkan Özgümüş was with the students as part of the “Cinema and Series Directing Workshop” organized by the Visual Communication Design and Film Animation Workshop on Friday, December 9th.

Özgümüş shared his knowledge and experience about the functioning of film and series production in the field and talked about the production and post-production stages.
The director, who also talked about which unit performs what kind of work on the sets and career processes, also shared his experiences that contributed to his career life.

“The Importance of Shooting Short Films in Directing”
Touching on the importance of shooting short films for students who want to become directors, Özgümüş also stated that he had shot 13 short films when he graduated from university. He also shared with the students that shooting short films is very valuable in this sense in order to be recognized in the sector, to rise quickly and to develop professionally.

“The Importance of Technical Knowledge in Directing”
Özgümüş also talked about the gains that a director’s technical knowledge brings in the field; He stated that the work of directors who have technical knowledge such as lighting, camera, editing is easier. In this way, he said that being able to produce fast and high quality work is very useful both during shooting and in the post-production process.
