Master’s Programs – Application Requirements

For the Thesis-Based Master’s Program in Economics, applicants must obtain a minimum score of 55 in the ALES (Equal Weight score type).

For the Non-Thesis Master’s Program in Economics, the ALES requirement is waived.
Education and Instruction

Classes are held on weekdays between 18:30 and 21:30, and on weekends when necessary.

The Thesis-Based Master’s Program in Economics consists of 8 courses, a seminar course, and a master’s thesis.

The Non-Thesis Master’s Program in Economics consists of 10 courses and a final project.

Attendance is compulsory, with a minimum requirement of 70%.

In order to be eligible for the master’s thesis defense, students are required to have an article published in a national or international peer-reviewed journal.
Scientific Preparatory Courses

Applicants who obtained their bachelor’s degree in a field different from the master’s program they are applying for are required to take scientific preparatory courses in order to remedy academic deficiencies.

These courses are non-credit bearing and subject to an additional fee.
PhD Program – Application Requirements

Applicants applying to the PhD Program in Economics with a master’s degree must obtain a minimum score of 55 in the ALES (Equal Weight score type).

Applicants must obtain a minimum score of 55 in the YDS/YÖKDİL examinations administered by ÖSYM, or an equivalent score from an internationally recognized foreign language proficiency exam.

For students admitted with a master’s degree, the PhD Program in Economics consists of 8 courses, a seminar course, a qualifying examination, and a doctoral dissertation.
