A Program for Concentration in Artificial Intelligence in Social Processes and Systems

Starting from the next 2022-2023 academic year, the “A Program for Concentration in Artificial Intelligence in Social Processes and Systems” will be established in the English and Turkish Departments of Economics.

The aim of the program is to provide students with a formation that has a solid theoretical basis and high practical value, built around artificial intelligence and related methods, one of the effective methods of the information age. By taking a series of courses ranging from programming to artificial intelligence algorithms, from modeling and simulation paradigms to economics and business intelligence, students will acquire “problem solving” and “situation improvement” skills that have high functional value for real life.

Participation in the program will be voluntary. There will be 8 compulsory and 4 optional courses in the program for participating students. Students in the Department of Economics will be able to fulfill both the elective course obligation corresponding to 8 courses and the Artificial Intelligence Concentration Program obligation by choosing 8 of the 12 elective courses within the department curriculum from the Artificial Intelligence Concentration Program courses. Therefore, the total number of courses they must take for graduation will not increase.

Students who complete the Program for Concentration in Artificial Intelligence in Social Processes and Systems will be given a reference letter in English and Turkish by the Department of Economics, explaining the artificial intelligence training they have gained and the potential contributions this training can create for the business world.
