Recognition of Prior Learning – Applicable Cases
The recognition of prior learning is a process that allows courses previously completed at the higher education level to be evaluated and counted in place of equivalent courses within the relevant university program.
Students may apply for the recognition of prior learning under the following circumstances:
-
Inter-University Course Transfer (Horizontal/Vertical Transfer)
-
Matching courses taken at another university with courses in the current program
-
Evaluation of the content and credit compatibility of previously completed courses
-
Course equivalency applications for students transferring horizontally or vertically
Application Process:
-
Horizontal/vertical transfer applications must be submitted within the dates specified in the academic calendar.
-
Students are required to submit an official transcript and course syllabi/content from their previous institution.
-
Applications are reviewed by the relevant academic unit, and approved courses are counted under the exemption/transfer framework.
