Horizontal Transfer Conditions for Graduate Programs
The conditions for horizontal transfer to graduate programs are regulated under the relevant article of the Istanbul Ticaret University Graduate Education and Training Regulation:
Article 44:
-
Successful students who have completed at least one semester, excluding scientific preparatory courses, in a graduate program of a department within an institute of the University or in a graduate program of another higher education institution may apply for horizontal transfer to graduate programs.
-
Applicants who wish to transfer from an institute of another university to a comparable and equivalent program of an institute of the University—whose equivalency has been approved by the relevant Institute Board—must, in order to be admitted, have completed at least one semester of graduate study at their original institute, have successfully passed all courses taken, and have fulfilled the current admission requirements of the graduate program to which they are applying.
-
The same conditions apply to horizontal transfers between institutes and departments within the University, as well as to transfers between thesis-based and non-thesis master’s programs.
-
Which of the courses previously taken by these students will be counted toward the relevant graduate program shall be determined upon the recommendation of the Head of the Department and the decision of the Institute Administrative Board. Evaluations regarding the equivalency of completed and passed courses are conducted by the relevant Institute Board.
-
Students who transfer horizontally are subject to the maximum duration of study specified in this Regulation for the stage at which they are admitted to the program.
