My journey with Istanbul Commerce University began in September 2012. Initially, I was very indecisive about whether to attend a private university. However, I later realized I was mistaken. I spent a wonderful 5 years at the university. First, I completed my preparatory education at the Üsküdar campus, followed by my degree in the Department of Business Administration (English) at the Sütlüce campus. Throughout my education, I had the opportunity to work on numerous projects, which I believe contributed significantly to my self-development.
One of the factors that contributed most to my personal growth during my university life was the student clubs. I was involved in the Theater Club, where we staged beautiful plays. Thanks to the opportunities provided by our school, we even went on tour to the Ankara University Faculty of Pharmacy. It was a wonderful experience for me.
I became a member of ÜNİFEB (University Fenerbahçe Fans Community), participating in social activities such as banner painting events and watching matches together. I also took an active role in the establishment and operations of the Atatürkist Thought Society at the school. We held talks with historian writers and organized visits to Anıtkabir in Ankara, which helped me develop my organizational skills.
Finally, I served as the Social Responsibility Project Leader in the Entrepreneurship Society. Together with my team, we signed off on a social responsibility project named “IF DREAMS CAME TRUE.” We ensured that many entrepreneurs participated in the “ENTREPRENEURSHIP SUMMIT,” which we organized annually, and enabled our students to do internships alongside them. I believe I developed myself significantly in the social sphere here as well.
Throughout my university life, I participated in all events organized by the Career Center. Through Sign Language training, I understood the importance of understanding hearing-impaired individuals. Through Psychodrama training, I learned to face my fears and know myself. With the Entrepreneurship Coaching project, I met esteemed individuals working at the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO). At a “Meclis-i Muhabbet” gathering, our late president İbrahim Çağlar allowed me to give a speech to share my views at an ITO meeting. Through the Career Days event, I had the chance to communicate with HR managers of many companies. As part of company visits, I attended a meeting held at the Vakıfbank 2nd Regional Headquarters. Through the voluntary internship program, I did a 3-month voluntary internship at the Istanbul Marriott Hotel Asia Finance Department.
I have a few humble recommendations for students who have won a place at our university and are continuing their education there:
-
Never forget that you are at the biggest university of the business world.
-
Make full use of all the opportunities provided by the Career Center.
-
Definitely join communities and take an active role.
-
Do not be afraid to voice things you think will develop you.
-
Do voluntary internships.
-
Participate in all kinds of events and make plenty of presentations.
-
Of course, do not forget to spare time for yourself while doing all this.
Stay healthy, everyone.

I am a graduate of the Istanbul Commerce University Business Administration (English) department. Throughout my studentship, we established beautiful relationships with our professors that still continue today. Additionally, we had a productive undergraduate life with the clubs and events organized by our school. Even after graduation, I always felt the support of the Career Center behind me. I thank my University for everything and recommend Istanbul Commerce University to everyone.

I graduated from the Department of Business Administration (English) at Istanbul Commerce University between 2016-2021, and I am currently still an active student in the Business Administration (English) Master’s Program with Thesis at our university. At the same time, I am conducting my thesis study as a Visiting Master’s Student at the University of Mannheim in Germany.
I believe that the Business Administration (English) department is an invaluable department that prepares students for the dynamics of the global world and raises them with sustainable business life principles. During my undergraduate period, I saw that our esteemed professors in the field provided an incredible vision with their experience and knowledge. It was a period that allowed me to see successes I could not even imagine.
While being a student, we may complain about the difficulty of the courses or intense exam periods; however, learning the concepts and terminology in the field of Business Administration in English is a crucial program for being able to communicate more competitively and effectively in the international business world. As an advantage of our department being in English, we can easily consider postgraduate education or global business opportunities without hesitation. I would like to sincerely thank all my professors for the education and vision they have added to us.
