The “Community Breakfast” organized by the Mathematics Community will be held on Saturday, November 5, at 11.00 at Adile Sultan Kasır. After breakfast, the Hababam Class Museum will be visited. Participant quota is limited to 40 people. Participants will gather at Istanbul Commerce University Sütlüce campus and move to the event area together.
The second Mathematics Film Days event, where “The Man Who Knew Infinity”, which is about the inspiring life of Indian-origin mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan, who has an important place in cinema, will be exhibited, will be held on Tuesday, 01.06.2021 at 21.00 via the Zoom platform. All movie lovers are invited to the event where a critique of the movie will be made from a mathematical perspective at the end of the movie.

The first of the seminar series under the responsibility of the Mathematics Society, titled “Mathematics and Multidisciplinary Approaches”, will be held live on Istanbul Commerce University YouTubechannel on May 27, 2021 at 19.00. Participants of the event, which will be moderated by Dilara Güler, president of the mathematics community, are Istanbul Commerce University Mathematics Department Faculty Member Prof. Dr. Necip Şimşek and Istanbul Technical University Physics Department Lecturer Assoc. Dr. Yakup Hun.
Mathematics is an important tool to make sense of the world. Because in physics, biology, medicine, economics and many other fields, events need to be modeled in order to be understood, given meaning and interpreted. The main player in this modeling process is mathematics. For this very reason, being able to read nature and life and being able to read mathematics come together in a common denominator. In order to make this common denominator understandable and to contribute to the acquisition of mathematical culture, the Mathematics Society starts science readings. A very important book titled “Five Equations That Changed the World” published by Tübitak Publications was chosen for the event to be held on May 10, 2021.
