The online seminar we organized within the scope of Spring conferences on April 3, 2024 was held with Vildan Altun Seylan, who works as Design Manager at Erak Holding. Seylan first talked about the importance of creating a story in design in the seminar titled ‘On the Concept of Design and Designer’. He explained to our students and seminar participants the importance of following non-field but current news such as economy, finance and politics and the importance of designing without ignoring the data coming from there. He stated that the designer should have high awareness, be open to innovation and be curious. He stated that the programs and presentation methods used in design have changed with digitalization and that designers create and share their portfolios in digital environments. Seylan also talked about the importance of sustainability for the sector and the importance of making it a way of life. He talked about the situation of the denim industry in Turkey and its needs in terms of design.
