CFA Society Istanbul visited our university this year, as they did last year, to provide information to students about CFA exams, competitions, and scholarship opportunities. Detailed explanations were given about how to prepare for the CFA program, exam topics, and levels. Given our university’s affiliation and the society’s commitment to supporting success, information was also provided about student scholarships.
We would like to once again congratulate Brian Mandisodza, our graduate student who successfully passed the Level 1 exam in the CFA program last year. We hope he serves as an example to undergraduate students.
Additionally, students were informed about the CFA Institute Research Challenge, an annual competition organized by CFA Society where teams consisting of students, academics, and industry professionals present a financial analysis of a company designated by the CFA Institute. This year, students selected from our Finance and Banking department participated in the Research Challenge led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sıtkı Sönmezer.
Furthermore, students were briefed about the inaugural CFA Quant Awards being held this year. The Quant Awards focus on individual original research in Quantitative Finance and can consist of reports, thesis projects emphasizing importance and practical applications over technicality, internship reports, or other works specifically created for the competition.
We extend our thanks to İlke Takımoğlu Homriş and Serra Akçay for their presentations.
