Welcome to the Department of Economics at Istanbul Ticaret University.

Economics is a fundamental tool for understanding the complex and dynamic structure of the world. Economics is a discipline that studies and influences many areas such as the distribution of resources, consumer behaviour, business activities, and national and international economic policies.

The Department of Economics at our University aims to equip students with fundamental principles of the field, develop their analytical skills, and provide them with the necessary tools to solve real-world problems.

An Economics education not only provides theoretical knowledge but also enables rational solutions to real-world problems. Through this process, you will enhance your analytical thinking skills, acquire data analysis expertise, and gain insight into the fundamental principles that underpin economic events.

Therefore, along with theoretical knowledge we aim to provide you practical experience to facilitate learning of real-world applications. Our university’s application and research centres, along with our department, offer a range of activities such as student assistantships and projects. These activities are designed to prepare our students for the business and academic worlds beyond the classes.
