Graduate Programs in Economics
The Department of Economics at Istanbul Ticaret University extends its long-established tradition of undergraduate education into graduate programs, offering a comprehensive structure that addresses both those pursuing academic careers and professionals seeking advanced expertise in the public or private sectors. The department offers thesis-based and non-thesis master’s programs, as well as a doctoral program, with the aim of training specialists capable of producing theoretical and analytical solutions to contemporary economic issues.
Thesis / Non-Thesis Master’s Programs in Economics
Our master’s programs provide in-depth theoretical knowledge in core areas such as microeconomics, macroeconomics, econometrics, mathematical methods, and international economics, while also enabling students to develop their scientific research and academic writing skills.
The thesis-based master’s program is designed for students who wish to conduct academic research in economics, pursue specialist positions in the public or private sectors, or continue on to doctoral studies. The non-thesis master’s program, which is completed with a final project, is designed primarily for candidates who aim to specialize in the professional world and direct their careers toward a practical, non-academic track.
PhD Program in Economics
The doctoral program, prepared for individuals seeking an academic career or advanced expertise in the field of economics, aims to provide a strong theoretical foundation along with the competence to conduct original research. The program offers advanced microeconomic and macroeconomic theory, econometric methods, advanced research techniques, and elective courses in various areas of specialization. At the conclusion of the program, students demonstrate their scholarly competence by writing a doctoral dissertation that makes a meaningful contribution to the academic literature.
