Master’s Program in Tourism Management

The aim of this programme is to educate and develop the qualified human resource which will contribute to the country’s tourism industry and to its economic and commercial life. By utilizing this resource it will be possible to follow up the scientific and technological developments on a global basis and to transfer this knowledge not only on a technical basis but also on a personal and scientific one to the ever-changing world and to the society at large.

Tourism is mainly composed of the accommodation, travel agency, transportation, and food & beverage industries; but it is also a closely related integration of goods and services from other sectors of the economy thus becoming a massive industry providing employment opportunities for many professional groups.  For this reason, there is an ever-increasing need for specialised manpower in the tourism sector.  It is an area which requires professionalism, ability, productivity, and knowledge of the rules of etiquette in order to organize the relations of these comprehensive and complex groups, to develop a tourism product by using their skills and to offer this to the service of the tourists.  These qualities, however, are not acquired by mere chance.  All these qualities are a result of an educational investment in people.

In line with the requirements of the tourism sector, the Tourism Management Master’s Program with its compulsory and elective courses provides its students with contemporary knowledge, skills, effective decision-making techniques, the ability to recognise opportunities and difficulties and current industrial practices, thus equipping them with contemporary sectoral knowledge and experience which enables them to embark on their professional careers.
