Istanbul Ticaret University Faculty of Law Moot Court Event, the first of which was held last year, was organized by Prof. Dr. Asuman Yılmaz and Prof. Dr. Ali Cem Budak, in cooperation with the Turkish Arbitration Academy and Marmara University MUN Club, on 9-11 May 2022, at the Istanbul Ticaret University Sütlüce Campus.
Opening speeches were made on May 9 by Istanbul Ticaret University Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Oğurlu, Vice Rector of İbni Haldun University, Prof. Dr. Ali Yeşilırmak and Istanbul Ticaret University Faculty of Law Dean Prof. Dr. Asuman Yılmaz. After the Opening Ceremony, a fictional case study was held in a total of 11 sessions over three days.
In fictional cases held in three different courts: the European Court of Human Rights, the High Criminal Court and the National Arbitration trial, Prof. Dr. Ali Yeşilırmak, Prof. Dr. Ali Cem Budak, Assoc. Prof. Ebru Şensöz Malkoç, Ass. Prof. Zafer İçer, Research Assistant Umur Aksakal and Research Assistant Metehan Hepvar and the students took on various tasks. While the ECHR proceedings were conducted in English, the High Criminal Court and National Arbitration proceedings were conducted in Turkish. Participation certificates were given to the participants.
After the closing speeches were made at the closing ceremony on May 11, the awards were presented to the successful students and the Moot Court 2022 Event was ended.
