FACULTY OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES PSYCHOLOGY English Supported
Comments from Our Graduate Student Edanur Haskaya

“After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Istanbul Commerce University in 2023, I can confidently say that the opportunities provided by the school significantly influenced my choices, making it my top preference. Being affiliated with Istanbul Chamber of Commerce allowed us to step into the business world with strong references through scholarships and internship opportunities. Studying psychology, which examines human behavior, emotions, and mental processes from a scientific perspective, necessitates staying updated with current developments. The approach of our academics, their research, and their teaching methods not only in psychology but also in other fields, supports students with contemporary topics, contributing to our academic satisfaction.

Moreover, engaging in professional and social interaction with our academics enriches the undergraduate experience. Before graduating, psychology students are required to complete two mandatory internships. The first internship is conducted in nursery schools focusing on developmental psychology, while the second internship is completed in clinical or industrial and organizational fields. The opportunity to intern at Bakırköy, Erenköy, and Çam Sakura Mental and Neurological Disorders Hospitals during the clinical internship at Istanbul Commerce University is a significant advantage.

The university also offers double major and minor opportunities contributing to student development. With my scholarship in psychology, I am currently pursuing a double major in Economics (English) department. Being offered the opportunity to work as a student assistant within the university allows me to enhance my knowledge in academia and shape my career plans by interacting with our professors.

Throughout my university journey, I have served on the board of directors in the Commerce Psychology and Commerce Theater clubs. I believe that the communication, teamwork, and productivity experiences gained in these clubs have greatly contributed to my internships and professional life.

To incoming students, I recommend making the most out of their academic and social lives. I am satisfied with my choices, and I hope you will be too with yours.”
