Psychology is defined as the scientific study of individual behaviors and mental processes, while Applied Psychology is considered the professional application of psychological knowledge to solve problems related to human behavior. The aim is to use theoretical approaches in psychology to help solve personal and social problems.

The program aims to provide education in psychological counseling and applied psychology methods, which have become widely used globally over the past 15 years. In other words, the program is designed to train psychologists equipped with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to serve in all fields of psychology. These professionals are expected to work in education, industry, and healthcare sectors, embrace ethical values, have both national and international competence, and adopt lifelong learning as a principle.

The Psychology Department’s curriculum is designed not only to offer a strong foundation in general psychology, but also to ensure students are well-equipped in the areas of Applied and Industrial Psychology. It includes both theoretical knowledge and practical application. Students have the opportunity to intern and observe in various educational institutions and clinics. Graduates of the Psychology Department are in demand in both public and private sectors across education, industry, and healthcare. One key factor in their professional success—whether in guidance services or as clinical psychologists—is the solid education they receive.
