Industrial Policies and Technology Management

Industrial policies, especially successfully implemented in East Asia, have rapidly increased the welfare levels and competitive strength of countries in this region. Thanks to industrial policies, these countries have demonstrated the fastest growth and development performance seen in world history.Industrial policies have manifested as public policies supporting “selected” industrial sectors in the countries where they are applied. At the company level, selected industry/technology fields have been analyzed and targeted in parallel with public policies.

The necessity for growth-friendly and competition-enhancing industrial policies has increased with crises. Recently, technology and innovation policies, as a part of industrial policies, have gained importance and have become almost synonymous with industrial policies.

Therefore, the Master’s Program in Industrial Policies and Technology Management is designed to provide participants with comprehensive education on:

  • The economic impacts of public policies,
  • Applications of industrial policies,
  • Emerging technology fields (e.g., energy, materials, biomedical, imaging, nanotechnology),
  • Analytical examination and strategy development of the benefits these technologies provide to countries or companies (linkages, spillovers, learning, etc.).

The Industrial Policies and Technology Management Master’s Program, based on interdisciplinary work, aims to train public and private sector leaders with a broad perspective who can take positions in decision-making roles in the future of industrial and development policies.

Graduates will be able to take responsibilities in public or private institutions or continue in doctoral programs in fields such as business administration, economics, and industrial engineering.
