The Master’s Program in International Trade and European Union Law aims to equip students with the ability to apply general legal knowledge to issues of international trade and EU law. It also aspires to train practitioners and researchers capable of following legal developments in a globalized world. The program was developed in response to both the legal demands of globalization and Turkey’s ongoing relationship with the European Union.
The program aims to build a foundation for individuals who:
- Are knowledgeable about the economic impacts of international trade,
- Understand the various dimensions and domestic/international effects of the globalization of law,
- Have above-elementary knowledge of the EU’s legal and political structure.
With this education, it is expected that researchers specialized in international trade and EU law will not only make individual progress but also contribute to national and international development.
The program prepares students with academic and professional skills in international trade law and EU law, enabling them to pursue careers as academics, judges, lawyers, or legal consultants. It also provides the competence to follow case law from the European Court of Human Rights and the Court of Justice of the European Union, and to offer consultancy services when needed.
