Mathematics is a fundamental science that is not only the subject of extensive research and continuous discovery, but is also an integral part of natural sciences, engineering, and even social sciences. As such, it is a constantly evolving discipline that shapes and is shaped by science and technology.
The aim of this mathematics program is to train individuals with the knowledge and skills required to be employed in rapidly evolving fields such as computer and software industries, banking, insurance, management, production optimization and planning—both in research centers, educational institutions, universities, public institutions, and the private sector.
The graduate program in mathematics can be completed as either thesis-based or non-thesis, depending on the student’s choice. The thesis track includes 24 credits of coursework, a seminar, and a thesis; the non-thesis track consists of 30 credits of coursework and a project. The curriculum includes a variety of subjects such as Analysis, Algebra, Geometry, Numerical Analysis, Financial Mathematics, and Mathematics Education.
Applications are primarily open to graduates of Mathematics, Mathematics-Computer Science, Mathematics-Statistics, Mathematical Engineering, and Mathematics Education departments who wish to enhance their background in mathematics.
