Mechatronics Engineering (English)

Mechatronics Engineering is a new branch of science based on mechanical, electronic, software and control systems technologies. Due to technological developments, many sectors are exposed to infrastructure change using mechatronic systems based on machinery, electronics, software and control systems technologies. The main reason for this is that mechatronic systems enable many processes that could not be done before and are very advantageous in terms of energy efficiency, quality, safety, cost and business sustainability. Electric/hybrid cars, buses and trains that can travel without a driver, commercial airplanes that fly under autopilot control, agricultural machines that automatically harvest fields, automatic container trucks that carry cargo in ports, unmanned air and sea vehicles, wind turbines that work adaptively according to wind conditions, smart printers that can print very fast and clearly, humanoid robots, surgical robots, exploration robots sent to other planets, fully robotic production lines are a few examples of applications that this science has added to our lives and gives us an idea about the future. Today, there is a great demand for Mechatronics Engineers in all these sectors, especially at the graduate and doctoral level. The postgraduate education given in our Mechatronics Engineering department consists of Turkish – English Master’s degree with and without thesis and Turkish – English PhD education.
