The reduction in the number of anti-democratic political regimes and closed economic systems, combined with the rapid development of communication and transportation tools, leads to an unprecedented degree of globalization worldwide. Globalization affects economic activities, politics, culture, and art. Local standards evolve and gain international dimensions. Companies develop economic plans considering the entire world. Issues, especially related to human rights in countries, become global matters. These attract the attention of other states and international organizations, becoming subjects of concern or intervention. Globalization also adds new dimensions to civil society organizations. International civil society organizations that do not wield public authority but have significant reputation and cross-border manpower support become active and effective in many areas, from human rights violations to environmental problems, almost competing with states.
The Istanbul Ticaret University Master’s Program in Political Science and International Relations aims to train graduates with the vision and skills to answer the questions and problems arising from globalization and to benefit from the opportunities and possibilities it offers. The International Relations Master’s Program aims to graduate individuals equipped with the knowledge and perspectives to meet the requirements of various positions in public and private sectors, international organizations and institutions, media organizations, and universities. Benefiting from the opportunities and advantages of Istanbul, a global city and Turkey’s economic and cultural center, the program continues as a competitive program in its field.
